Citing the rising prices of basic foodstuffs in the country compared to the minimum wage, the Teachers’ Plenum has requested from the Minister of Education and Science Mila Carovska to increase the salaries of all employees in education by 20 percent, beginning January 2022.

In a public letter addressed to Minister Carovska, the teachers’ association says their survey showed that most of its members were dissatisfied with their current incomes.

“Education employees deserve a better standard of living and higher paychecks. This is why we ask you to take us seriously and grant our request,” the letter from the Teachers’ Plenum says.
