The request for early general elections and the date for the start of negotiations with the EU are not related, because elections should be held as soon as possible because Zaev’s government was delegitimized, said VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski, during his visit of the municipality of Gazi Baba, and added that the Macedonian people deserve that date for the start of accession negotiations.

Mickoski stresses that the people will be very disappointed if there would be no date yet again, but he is optimistic and wants it to happen in December and believes that the EU will oppose the Bulgarian hegemonic demands.

“I am optimistic about December and I want the date to happen, these people deserve that start of negotiations. It is not a question whether Dimitrov will count the weeks or months when that date will occur. The European Council should meet in Brussels, to forget about the blackmail coming from our eastern neighbor and the future we should build together in Europe to build , and not to go back two centuries”, said Mickoski,

He stresses that the Bulgaria’s demands are not European values and believes that all EU member states this time will understand Bulgaria and promote the true European values on the basis of which the union was created, i.e. those who have been once promoted by Adenauer, Schumann and de Gasperi.

“These are the values of a united and equally developed Europe. They will stand in the way of these hegemonic demands of our eastern neighbor and this people in the heart of the Balkans will be given the opportunity to negotiate and one day be able to sit at the same table with them and share the same values. What we are asking for is for us to respect the right to be able to negotiate and be part of the Union because we share the same values,” Mickoski said.
