The passengers injured in Tuesday’s bus accident are in a stable condition that is not life-threatening. Pirogov hospital staff said the patients are properly cared for and different medical specialists are monitoring their condition. All necessary urgent treatment has been performed, said Health Minister after being briefed by the director of the Sofia hospital.

“The post-operative condition of the patients is good. Two additional surgical treatments will be performed today. One of the injured passengers will undergo additional medical-diagnostic procedures to give more clarity on future therapeutic treatment,” hospital staff said.

Forty-five passengers were killed and seven were injured in Tuesday’s bus accident on the Struma highway in Bulgaria. Six of the injured patients are treated at the plastic surgery and burns clinic in Sofia’s Pirogov hospital, and one is treated at the traumatology clinic.
