Omicron variant confirmed in nine patients in Macedonia, 5.667 active cases nationwide

The Omicron variant of COVID-19 is rapidly spreading throughout the world, as well as in the region. Nine cases of Omicron were detected in our country on Tuesday, of which eight patients were from Skopje and one was from Kochani. According to the authorities, vaccination remains the only way out of the pandemic. There are currently a total of 5,667 active cases nationwide.

Since the onset of the pandemic, as informed by the Ministry of Health, a total of 227,168 COVID-19 cases have been registered, a total of 1,619,276 tests have been performed, the number of recovered patients is 213,505, and the death toll stands at 7,996.
