A subtype of the Omicron strain, called BA.2 or as some scientists call it “stealth Omicron”, has been unofficially recorded in three cases in N. Macedonia.
According to information from Fokus.mk, the patients infected with the new sub-variant are two from Skopje and one from Strumica. Our sources claim that in the laboratory of the Institute of Public Health, 41 samples were typed, of which 35 citizens are carriers of Omicron only, while three of the new subtype. The Delta strain is also still present, giving a more severe clinical picture to those infected.
