ZELS requests urgent meeting with the Government to resolve the problems with the energy crisis

At today’s fourth session of the Board of Directors of the Association of Local Self-Government Units (ZELS), it was unanimously decided to request an urgent meeting with the Government in order to find a solution to the problems caused by the energy crisis.

They state that the meeting is required to be realized with the members of the Management Board of ZELS with the Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, and with representatives of the departments that are directly related to dealing with the consequences of the energy crisis.

This is a big problem and the mayors have been warning for a long time about the multiple increase of electricity bills, and in some municipalities by more than 500 percent compared to those before the crisis. The representatives of ZELS requested a timely reaction from the Government to overcome this situation, emphasizing that if this does not happen an hour sooner, the functioning of the municipalities, but also of the public enterprises and educational institutions will be brought into question.
