Over 77 percent of the surveyed doctors from the Medical Chamber of North Macedonia (LKSM) in 2021 experienced physical or verbal violence in the workplace. The President of LKSM, Kalina Grivcheva – Stardelova, announced these data today at the celebration of the European Day for Raising Awareness of Violence against Doctors and Other Health Care Workers, pointing out that this figure is not to be neglected. The survey covered a total of 1061 respondents, all members of LKSM.
“We know this is part of the world’s healthcare, but we would not want to experience it on a daily basis, we would not want our work to be associated with fear when communicating with patients. We are not good doctors if we work under such pressure, neither dentists nor pharmacists. We would definitely like to make some move, to be more comfortable and to be able to do our job peacefully,” said Grivcheva-Stardelova.
