We have topics that are essential for discussion and I am sure that all allies will show unity for all of them, because that is crucial given the changing security situation, said Macedonian Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani in Berlin, while attending an informal meeting of foreign ministers of NATO member countries.

“North Macedonia, as the latest member of NATO, strongly supports the open door policy, and thus the aspiration of Sweden and Finland for NATO membership, which is an important step for the overall Euro-Atlantic security,” said Osmani.

The Foreign Minister also said that the Western Balkans will be an inevitable part of the future European security architecture and thus NATO’s open door policy and EU enlargement as “two main pillars on which to rely” will be part of the new Strategic Concept.
