Providing fiscal support in this year’s Budget to overcome the effects of the crisis, closely monitor price movements and maintain price stability in the medium term by pursuing appropriate monetary policy, continuing public finance management reforms through gradual fiscal consolidation in the medium term, adopting new law on budget, implementation of the Tax Strategy and digital transformation of the Public Revenue Office, Adoption of a new law on public-private partnership, as well as improvement of the business environment by continuing with the digitalization of public services, rationalization of parafiscal duties and adoption of a new strategy for formalization of the economy, are just some of the recommendations arising from the Economic-financial dialogue EU, which took place on May 24, 2022 in Brussels.
As the Minister of Finance Fatmir Besimi announced at today’s joint press conference with the EU Ambassador David Geer, in the discussion with the European Commission, after the submission of the Economic Reform Program 2022 – 2024, it was agreed that the focus in the next period will be on the adoption of legal energy efficiency framework and the establishment of an energy efficiency fund in line with the EU’s Western Balkans Green Agenda, as well as the continuation of education reforms, in particular secondary vocational education.
“This is a time of great economic challenges, which requires careful creation of fiscal policy, with measures to support the economy and citizens, but also measures to stimulate growth,” the minister underlined.
