With efforts at the International Seminar on Macedonian Language, Literature and Culture at the University “St. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (MSMJLK at UKIM) from the next academic year, the Macedonian language will be available to all students at Istanbul University who are interested in Macedonian studies. Until now, the Macedonian language could be studied only by the students of the Faculty of Literature.
“Last year, when we marked 35 years since the opening of the Macedonian language lectorate in Istanbul, we committed ourselves that we will deepen the cooperation and that investments in the strengthening and affirmation of Macedonian studies will continue. “The opportunity for students from all faculties of Istanbul University to study Macedonian studies shows that the mutual determination expressed is not only formal, but essential, based on the excellent decades-long cooperation between the two universities, especially in the field of Macedonian studies,” said the MSMJLK head at UKIM, Professor Vesna Mojsova-Chepishevska.
