In 2021, 739 illegally built buildings were registered on the territory of N. Macedonia, according to the data of the State Statistics Office.
According to the type of building, 210 housing buildings (28.4%), 102 additions, upgrades and adaptations (13.8%), 73 business buildings (9.9%), 29 garages (3.9%), 128 fences (17.3%), were built illegally. 6 stairs (0.8 %), 6 terraces (0.8 %), 6 summer terraces (0.8 %), 71 sheds (9.6 %), 23 temporary buildings (3.1 %) and 85 auxiliary buildings (11.5 %).
Most of the illegal buildings (95.7%) are owned by private entities.
