VMRO – DPMNE started the procedure for collecting signatures for a referendum on ending the validity of the Friendship Treaty with Bulgaria.

If the referendum takes place, Mickoski added, the citizens will have the opportunity to say that they are”for” and thus this treaty with Bulgaria ceases to be valid or “against” that is, this treaty with the Republic of Bulgaria remains valid. Mickoski called on political parties, citizens regardless of their ethnicity and non-governmental organizations to support the referendum.

On Wednesday, over 500 signatures were collected in less than an hour, although only 100 are needed for the referendum initiative.

“The people do not want solutions that deny our uniqueness and identity. The Parliament is on the move,” the opposition leader pointed out.
