A cyclist riding on the bank of river Vardar in Skopje in a real drama managed to prevent a 65-year-old woman from setting herself on fire.
26-year-old Hristijan Todorovski from Skopje was passing under the bridge near MANU and without any thought threw himself at the woman who had a bottle of gasoline in one hand and a lighter in the other. The woman resisted, and both ended up in the river.
The incident happened around 1:30 p.m., when Todorovski was riding his bicycle and noticed about fifty police officers stationed on the upper level of the river bay. Immediately after, he saw the older woman, who was holding a bottle in her hands. One of the officers shouted at him to hurry up and try to stop the woman.
