AETM: Citizens spent around EUR 195 million on domestic online stores

According to the latest published data on non-cash payment transactions at virtual points of sale for a period of 6 months ending on 30.06.2022 by the National Bank of RNM, the upward trend in both the value and the number of transactions continues to be significant. Macedonians spent almost 195 million euros in the first 6 months of this year on domestic online stores, which is 70% of the total value of online transactions, announced the Macedonian E-Commerce Association – AETM.

During the first half of 2022, Macedonians mostly bought from domestic e-stores. After an increase of 169% in the first half of 2020 and 83% in 2021, during the first six months of 2022 with domestic cards to domestic e-stores spent almost 195 million euros online, an increase of 22% in compared to the same period last year.
