Since the 90s of the last century, seismic regulations have been observed in most cases during the construction of buildings, and since 2013 the Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology (IZIIS) received an additional mandate from the Government to control their application, as in the project , as well as during the performance, which together with the responsibility that still exists among the largest number of planners and builders, contributes to having reliable buildings, said the head of Institute of Earthquake Engineering & Engineering Seismology (IZIIS), Vlatko Sheshov in an interview.
“In a time like this in which we live, where the population has lost all trust in institutions, the construction industry also normally shares that fate. One of the things that is due to such opinion among the public, above all, may be in unplanned construction, in poorly made detailed urban plans, where buildings spring up next to each other, where we might not expect them, and now the population when they see such objects, he thinks they are unsafe,” said Sheshov.
