The State Audit Office of the Republic of North Macedonia (SAO) published on Thursday the Audit Report on the work of the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development (FITR) for 2022 for the period from 2019 to 2021. Undefined activities and inconsistencies with the strategic, normative acts and established policies from innovation activity were found, informs the SAO.

“In the 2019-2021 period, FITR hired experts to evaluate and provide expert opinion on projects from published public calls for financial support, for which funds of about 16 million MKD were paid. FITR has not undertaken any activities for the categorization of registered experts in the Register from which they will be selected according to a rotation system, no Evaluation Commission has been formed, no act has been adopted for the work of the Commission, and zero testing and interviews have been conducted to evaluate the experts,” the SAO informed.
