Lufthansa and Wizz Air introduce new airlines with government subsidies

With subsidies from the Government, the German airline Lufthansa will introduce one new airline – from Skopje to Frankfurt, while Wiz Airwill introduce four – from Skopje to Luxembourg, Stuttgart, Salzburg and to Ljubljana.

Macedonian Prime Minister DimitarKovachevski and Minister of Transport and Communications BlagojaBochvarski announced at a press conference that the call for subsidies for new airlines, which ended on March 31, was successful, as an agreement was concluded with Lufthansa and Wizz Air.

Lufthansa will fly from Skopje to Frankfurt ten times a week from April 23, and Wiz Air for the new four destinations three times a week from November 1 this year. The financial support will amount to seven euros in MKD equivalent per departing passenger transported from Skopje International Airport.
