Although the heating season has already ended, the Government decided to transfer state aid from the budget to AD ESM in the amount of 50 million euros (three billion MKD). The decision to approve financial assistance to deal with the energy crisis was approved at a session on April 28, reported Factor. “With this decision, financial resources in the amount of MKD 3,000,000,000 are approved for AD for the production of electricity, Power Plants of North Macedonia. The funds will be provided from the RNM Budget for 2023,” the decision reads.
This amount comes as a surprise, because last month the ESM announced that a profit of EUR 41 million was made for 2022 and that a large part of the state aid that was approved last year was not spent.
