Balkan Wash Network (BWN) in cooperation with the Association of Journalists for Human Rights (JHR), on the eve of May 28 – the World Day of Menstrual Hygiene, held a “guerrilla action” in front of the City of Skopje on Friday to ask the mayor why female high school students have still not received free menstrual products.

The head of BWN, Natasha Dokovska-Spirovska, recalled the promise of Skopje Mayor Danela Arsovska made in 2021.

The action was held as part of the project “The fight against menstrual poverty – an unfulfilled election promise” within the framework of which the City of Skopje’s promise of free distribution of menstrual health management products is being monitored.

The organizers reminded that this decision was made on December 30, 2021 for the budget of the City of Skopje planned for 2022.
