Macedonian Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski, in Thursday’s interview with Sloboden Pechat was asked about the confrontation with criminal groups in the country, where he pointed out that in 2023, from January to May, the Ministry of Interior recorded a decrease in crime by 13.7%.
“We suppressed a 10-member organized criminal group in the area of Tetovo, criminal charges were filed for child exploitation and trafficking, there was an arrest a few days ago of 3 people, 2 of whom are Macedonian citizens, in a coordinated action with France. At the same time, all persons were arrested, as a group that was preparing terrorist acts, etc. From two organized criminal groups on the territory of Albania and Greece, in joint actions, according to the information of the Ministry of Interior, 429 kilograms of cocaine have been seized so far”, Minister Spasovski said.
