Macedonian President Stevo Pendarovski said he hoped that the constitutional revision would be carried out by the end of November, so that the country avoids blocking its own EU accession.
“As we all know, last year we voted to accept the EU framework and that was one of the preconditions to continue negotiations for EU membership. A working group has already been formed within our Ministry of Justice, consisting of experts and political representatives of the parties in the Parliament. They made a proposal for the content of the amendments, including for the entry of the Bulgarian minority into the Macedonian Constitution. According to the announcements, in the next two weeks, that initiative should go through the procedures in the Government and then enter the Parliament,” said President Pendarovski.
