Decades of reforms in healthcare, and the citizens are dissatisfied. As a new minister of health arrives, he immediately announces serious surgical cuts, a new clinical center, new hospitals in the municipalities, improvement of health services, but the horror of the state health system is becoming more and more terrible. The “MojTermin” (“My Appointment”) system becomes a tool for manipulation, not for facilitating patients’ access to healthcare services.
Patients wait for months for a free appointment for a specialist examination or surgery. Due to the lack of appointments in the “MojTermin” system, a large number of patients with serious health illnesses and the need for urgent surgery are forced to pay out of pocket in one of the state healthcare institutions or at the private hospitals.
