Macedonia is ranks first in abuse of EU funds in the Western Balkans. The anti-European behavior of the Government is confirmed once again. The European Anti-Fraud Office – OLAF determined that out of 36 abuses of these funds, 18 are in N. Macedonia alone, points out spokesperson for VMRO-DPMNE Marija Miteva in a press briefing on Sunday.
“OLAF investigates fraud against the European Union budget, corruption and develops an anti-fraud policy for the European Commission. Also, another indicator of the government’s criminal actions is the fact that the investigations refer to the period of 2017-2022, exactly the time of the rule of the DUI government supported by the SDS. At the same time, recommendations are given for the beneficiary country to return the misused funds. This means that Macedonia will have to return these funds in the future, which can reach tens of millions of euros,“ Miteva pointed out.
