A total of ninewildfires during Tuesday were extinguished and as of Wednesday morning there are no active fires, informed the director of Crisis Management Center – CMC StojancheAngelov.
On the territory of the City of Skopje, two fires were registered yesterday, one on dry grass and one burning garbage, while in the municipalities of DemirKapija, Gradsko, Kichevo, Ohrid, Ceshinovo – Obleshevo, Kumanovo and StaroNagorichane, there was one fire each and mainly dry grass and low vegetation. All have been extinguished and no human lives are threatened, nor has any major damage been caused.
“All the fires so far this season have been caused by humans. The largest part was unintentional, due to carelessness, and for a few there are suspicions of arson,” Angelov stressed.
