Public Prosecutor with the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption, after yesterday’s arrest in the village of Grcec of the first suspect from the “Mountain” case will continue the investigative procedure against him. He was wanted by order of the PPO with a national and international warrant since 2021 due to the existence of a well-founded suspicion that, as the main organizer, he committed the crime of unauthorized production and placing on the market of narcotic substances, psychotropic substances and precursors, provided for and punishable under Article 215 paragraph 3 cv paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
The investigative procedure for the “Mountain” case was opened in March 2021 against 28 people, including one child in conflict with the law over the age of 16. Since it was about two criminal groups involved in the unauthorized sale of narcotic drugs, two orders were passed for the implementation of an investigative procedure. In the actions carried out at the time in the territory of the village of Grcec and the settlement of Gazi Baba, 22 people were arrested, and five of them, including the first suspect, were on the run.
