The strategic forum in Bled resulted in contradictory statements by EU bureaucrats regarding the enlargement of the Union, which once again confirmed the thesis of the complete absence of a coherent policy regarding this issue. The leaders of the EU member states not only shared skeptical views regarding the expansion, but also reaffirmed the view that full membership is excluded as an option, assesses opposition party Levica in a press release on Thursday.

“It’s time for the Macedonian political elite to start thinking about establishing different strategic priorities for Macedonia, which will allow us to get out of the Euro-Atlantic deadlock, where we have been fruitlessly stuck for more than thirty years under the platitude of no alternative,” reads Levica’s press release.
