The Dutch government cabinet sent the government’s evaluation of the EC report on North Macedonia to the Parliament in The Hague, which, among other things, emphasizes:

“…However, the report paints a bleak picture of developments in the Foundations cluster areas. The development of events in the Judicial Council, political influence on judicial appointments and the abuse of fast-track procedures for passing laws cause great concern. The Government shares the Commission’s serious concern about the amendments to the Criminal Code with their far-reaching consequences for ongoing corruption cases. In the near future, North Macedonia will have to show political will to deal with corruption at a high level and to fight against organized crime.”
