Low income, high expenses. The residents of Tetovo consider the year that has passed as very difficult, especially the pensioners. They expect it to be better, but some of them are skeptical.

“Poor wages, poor pensions. It’s very difficult, so let’s see, even if we are not very optimistic,” commented the citizens.

According to the economist and professor Abdulmenaf Bexheti, the worst is behind us, from a macroeconomic point of view, inflation is stabilizing. But he adds that money is becoming more and more expensive, and the labor shortage in the country will continue.

“The central bank is keeping interest rates pretty high. That is currently the risk for this year, which may affect investment and consumption. I think that we will face an already recognizable challenge, which is a lack of quality labor force and human capital,” stated Bexheti.
