Living expenses up by 9.4 percent in 2023


Compared to 2022, the cost of living in 2023 went up by 9.4 percent, and retail prices by 7 percent, the State Statistics Office (SSO) announced on Tuesday.
In December, living expenses increased by 0.2 percent compared to November, and retail prices by one percent.
Index increase was observed in furniture, household goods and household maintenance groups by 13.6 percent, restaurants and hotels by 12.7 percent, food and soft drinks by 11.7 percent, various goods and services by 11.6 percent, housing , water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 10.4 percent, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and medication by 8 percent, etc.
