The Police Union is demanding a 15 percent pay increase starting January. The head of the Police Union Orce Kocevski said Tuesday in a statement to the media that the basic salary of a police officer at the moment is MKD 16,332.
The salary increase by 15 percent starting from January 2024 should be from the budget of the Macedonian Ministry of Interior.
When asked what will be the next step of the union if their request is not fulfilled, Kocevski expressed hope that the minister of interior will understand the request and starting this month will increase the salary by at least 15 percent, but if this does not happen, the option of organizing a protest has not been excluded.
