Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said Friday that personal documents, such as identity cards, that are for internal use will be valid even after the deadline for their replacement has expired, and regarding passports he said that all options will be considered.

The Prime Minister informed that the employees of the Ministry of Interior have already issued 1,200,000 passports in the country, which, according to him, means that they are working at a high pace.

“I know that everyone wants to criticize more, but we should also show some gratitude to the employees who work around the clock, they work on photographing the citizens, and are making the documents, as well as issuing the documents, so that 1.2 million passports is not a small number. I believe that it will continue at such a pace, and we will examine all possibilities in order, if necessary, to make a prolongation in the part of passports, because they serve citizens to be able to travel outside the country,” PM Kovachevski said.
