The party leader of the Democratic Union (DS) Pavle Trajanov on Friday submitted to the Constitutional Court an initiative to annul the Authentic Interpretation of Article One of the Amnesty Law, which stopped the proceedings for the four Hague cases: “NLA leadership”, “Lipkovo lake”, “Neproshteno tomb” and “Mavrovo workers”. According to the DS, this interpretation is contrary to the Constitution and the Criminal Code, as well as the Geneva Conventions, which define that crimes against civilians do not have a statute of limitations.

“According to the Authentic Interpretation, the procedure for the four Hague cases was stopped, we quote: persons who are reasonably suspected of having prepared or committed crimes related to the conflict in 2001,” reads the DS press release.
