Apartment prices are breaking records in N. Macedonia, which is the leader in the region in terms of price growth per square meter. According to the analysis of Bulgarian 24 Hours, real estate prices increased by 20.6 percent last year, Sitel TV reported.
Albania ranks second – over 17.5 percent price increase, Bulgaria under 10 percent, Serbia 6.5, and Croatia 3.5 percent. Prices in the center of Skopje currently reach from 2,000 to 2,500 euros per square meter. They are cheaper on the outskirts, where a square meter costs around 1,000 euros.
The growth is illogical, say the Union of Chambers of Commerce, because it does not follow the increase in wages, and the interest on loans is also increasing.
