Former UBK chief to be released on parole in December

The Skopje-based Criminal Court decided Monday to release former Administration for Security and Counterintelligence (UBK) director SashoMijalkov on parole on December 25. His parole will last until April 25, 2025.

“The Criminal Council at the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption, acting on the proposal made by the Struga Prison Warden for the conditional release of the convicted S.M., after holding a public session, obtaining and reviewing complete documentation in accordance with the instructions of the Skopje’s Appellate Court, made a decision by which He accepted the proposal of the Director of the penitentiary institution. According to the decision, the convicted person is released from the Struga Prison on 25.12.2024, and his parole is considered until 25.04.2025,” reads the press release of the Skopje Criminal Court.
