The public service fulfills its obligations towards those for whom it exists – the citizens – in accordance with all legal regulations and ethical norms. Macedonian Television conceptualizes its program content according to the rules that represent the operationalization of the obligations it has in accordance with the Law on Audio and Audiovisual Media Services, the Law on Media and in accordance with the Code of Ethics, the Macedonian Radio Television (MRT) said in a press release on Wednesday.
“Any deliberate and unfounded undermining of citizens’ trust in public institutions is by definition a harmful narrative. In that context, harmful narratives towards the Public Service grow during the election period. In a specific moment of a technological revolution in the Macedonian Television, promoting the new virtual and augmented reality through the program contents that are broadcast, the Public Broadcaster is facing unfounded attacks on the reliability of what is being marketed,” MRT points out in the press release.
