DUI supporters celebrated late Wednesday evening at the Skenderbeg Square in Skopje after the announcement of the initial results of the first round of the presidential elections, according to which their presidential candidate Bujar Osmani came third, ahead of the candidate for the united Albanian opposition, Arben Taravari.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Political System from the ranks of DUI Artan Grubi at the Skenderbeg Square in Skopje where the Election Headquarters of the opponent Taravari was located, said that this is a spectacular victory for the coalition of the European Front led by DUI.
“We are celebrating the victory of the European Front. We are celebrating that we will win with over 20 MP seats on May 8, in the presidential and parliamentary elections. We will celebrate the liberation of Chair, Tetovo, Gostivar, Zhelino and all other occupied municipalities with the help of VMRO-DPMNE, Levica, Dodik, Putin and Vuchikj. Today is the day of liberation, as will be May 8, the day before Europe Day,” Grubi said.
