Inflation up by 0.9% in May compared to April, says SSO

Inflation measured through the Consumer Price Index in May 2024, compared to April 2024 was 0.9%, the State Statistics Office (SSO) informed on Friday.
The increase is due to the hike in the cost of living in the restaurants and hotels section by 3.1 percent, recreation and culture by 2.1 percent, transportation by 1.9 percent, clothing and footwear by 1.5 percent, furniture, household goods and maintenance of households by 1 percent, food and soft drinks by 0.7 percent, miscellaneous goods and services by 0.4 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, health by 0.1 percent.
Compared to May 2023, there was an increase of 4.5 percent.
