Macedonian Justice Minister Igor Filkov met on Monday with U.S. Ambassador Angela Aggeler, discussing implementation of reform commitments, strengthening fight against crime and corruption, the situation in the judiciary, prisons, as well as ensuring conditions for the smooth implementation of the planned activities, the Ministry of Justice said in a press release.
Justice Minister Filkov said that changes must be delivered quickly because citizens demand results.
“The USA is our biggest strategic partner and a strong ally for our country’s progress towards full membership in the European Union,” said the minister.
At the meeting, the commitment to the further development of the bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the continuation of the previous cooperation, was confirmed.
