Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said on Monday that he expects wildfires to be put under control “tomorrow or the day after tomorrow at the latest.”

“Two planes and one helicopter have arrived from Turkey. The two aircraft are already working to calm down the fiery element in the area of the Novo Selo municipality, and the helicopter is now heading to the Negotino region. We expect help and support, and that only in airplanes because we are talking about inaccessible regions, and from Serbia, Montenegro and Slovenia,” Mickoski said.

Earlier, the Crisis Management Center (CMC) head Stojanche Angelov informed that in the morning, two Air Tractor planes and one helicopter landed at the airport in Skopje, which will be involved in extinguishing the fires on Mount Serta and Ogradzhen.
