Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told reporters on Monday that his visit to Washington was “exceptionally successful” with an intensive agenda, during which “the other side had a chance to see different politicians, with a clear plan and priorities”.

“The visit to Washington, which had an intensive agenda, I would rate as an exceptionally successful visit, in which the interlocutors had the opportunity to see different politicians who come from here, not politicians who say yes to everything, but politicians who have a clear plan,” said Mickoski.

“We will not be politicians who say yes to everything and hold their hand to their heart with a bent spine. On the contrary, we will defend our interests with dignity, we will agree on something, we will not agree on something. That is what is our priority. We have no intention of robbing Macedonian citizens or Macedonia. On the contrary, the law must rule, the institutions must be functional, the politicians must serve the citizens within the limits of the possibilities. The time when we had a few happy politicians and hundreds of thousands of unhappy citizens is over, now the situation should be reversed, quite the opposite of what it was until now,” PM Mickoski said.
