Macedonian Health Minister Arben Taravari will negotiate with unions on their demands for new collective agreements in health, but what is agreed could be implemented not by the end of this year, but next year. By the end of this year, new employment is planned, but there is no room for wage increases.
“Of course, there will be employment, but raises and a new collective agreement at the request of the unions, honestly, to be honest, I can say anything, but it is difficult to implement it by the end of this budget year. We have a huge budget deficit. However, the budget proposal has passed the first reading, now comes the second reading, I hope that there will not be a huge budget cut in healthcare because we have to survive and get through until November this year,” said Minister Taravari.
For months, healthcare workers’ unions have been demanding a new collective agreement for employees that will increase salaries in the healthcare sector.
