Seven wildfires are burning across the country and local firefighting efforts can be bolstered by foreign help if necessary although there is currently no need for this; also, the rain may help crews fight the fires, Crisis Management Center head Stojanche Angelov told a press conference on Wednesday.
Angelov informed at a press conference that several firefighters have been injured so far. One firefighter and one inhabitant of the settlement suffered burns while extinguishing a fire, two days ago the commander of the Shtip firefighting unit fractured both arms falling into a ravine, and a firefighter who broke one arm also fell with him, while the day before a volunteer firefighter for extinguishing Mount Serta he fractured his arm falling off a quad bike.
