The first meeting of the working group for the preparation of urgent legal amendments aimed at improving the system for preventing and protecting against violence against women and domestic violence was held.
The working group was formed in line with the conclusions of the Emergency Session of the National Coordinating Body for the Implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence. The work of the group includes representatives from several institutions, the Ministry of Social Policy, Demography and Youth, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Justice, the judiciary, the academic community, the civil sector and other competent institutions and organizations that, through their work or scope of competence, are related to the issue of violence against women and domestic violence.
The goal is to strengthen the mechanisms for preventing violence and protecting victims through amendments and supplements to several laws.
