The Synod of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric elected Bishop Nikola as Metropolitan of Australia and New Zealand at Thursday’s synod session.
As reported by Religija.mk, , Bishop Petar was dismissed as administrator of the diocese at his request at that same session.
The newly elected Metropolitan Nikola was born in 1974 in Skopje. He graduated from the Department of General and Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Philology “Blazhe Koneski” at the “Sts. Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje. He completed a two-year study stay at the Department of Byzantology at Charles University in Prague, where he studied in the field of medieval literature.
