Macedonia’s former Deputy Prime Minister ArtanGrubi remains under house arrest, while the investigation into the case involving him continues, the Skopje Criminal Court confirmed on Monday.
According to available information, Grubi was brought before the court and underwent several hours of procedural actions, but did not comment on the suspicions that are the subject of the investigation before the public prosecutor.
In the meantime, the competent institutions continue to collect evidence for the case, which concerns serious suspicions of abuses in the State Lottery, with the damage estimated at several million euros.
Grubi, who was inaccessible to law enforcement agencies for more than a year, was detained upon his return to the country, after which the proceedings against him were reactivated.
The case is already causing strong reactions in the public, especially due to the decision to place him under house arrest, considering that he is a former high-ranking state official.
The investigation is not yet complete, and the prosecution announces that further decisions and possible charges will follow after it is fully cleared up.
