The murder of Ohrid resident Klime Mitreski (76) that occurred on Wednesday was due to greed, announced the Ohrid Primary Public Prosecutor’s Office (Ohrid PPO), which has initiated an investigation against the murder suspect Zh.G. (53) from the Tetovo village of Brvenica.

The murder took place in Mitreski’s home on Nada Fileva Street in Ohrid. Zh.G. learned that the murdered had already initiated proceedings to terminate the lifelong alimony agreement that they had concluded with a notary in February 2025. According to the agreement, the suspect was to receive a large amount of property after the victim’s death. However, the victim had already taken action to terminate that agreement.

After a verbal argument, Zh.G. physically assaulted Mitreski from behind and knocked him to the floor, after which he hit him on the head several times with his fist, and with the other hand held his mouth and nose so that he could not breathe. After seeing that Mitreski was dead, Zh.G. fled the crime scene.
