Nearly 1,500 Macedonian army members, with the support of NATO monitors, will take part in the field training exercise Flash 2026, due on April 19-27 at the Krivolak military training ground and at various sites across the country.

As announced by the Army General Staff, this is a tactical field exercise with live shooting, in which the units will operate in a simulated real combat environment, using opposing forces. The main goal is to check and demonstrate the level of combat readiness of the LPBG, in accordance with NATO standards.

The assessment will be conducted by a national team certified according to NATO procedures, while the process will also be monitored by Alliance monitors, ensuring the validity and transparency of the overall evaluation.

In addition to combat readiness, Flash 26 will also test key segments such as the command and control system, coordination between units, as well as logistical sustainability when conducting operations. Special emphasis will also be placed on the ability to receive, deploy and move NATO forces throughout the country, the Defense Ministry explained.

The Army General Staff stresses that the exercise will play a significant role in improving the operational capacities of the Army and in strengthening interoperability with allied forces.
