More than 50 hectares of degraded beech and oak forest have been affected by the fire that engulfed the Maleshevo region, on the border between the villages of Mitrashinci and Budinarci. Fortunately, the fire is moving low on the ground, and we expect to have full control over the fire during the day, by tomorrow at the latest, the director of the Crisis Management Center (CMC), Stojanche Angelov, who attended the burned place today, told the media.
“The fire started on Thursday afternoon and flared up in the late afternoon hours. It covered a large area and threatened to grow into an extremely dangerous fire. The initial assessment is that more than 50 hectares of degraded beech and oak forest are affected, part of the forest that is affected is from previous cutting and there are many scattered branches,” stressed Angelov.
