The Democratic Union (DS) believes that before starting the procedure for introducing the Bulgarians into the Constitution, it is necessary for Bulgaria to ensure reciprocity, for the Macedonians to be recognized and to be able to organize and unite through the establishment of cultural centers, citizens’ associations, political parties and other forms of associations, for the purpose of nurturing and affirming the cultural, linguistic, historical and other features, rights that all ethnic communities have in Macedonia, including the Bulgarians.
As long as Bulgaria denies the Macedonian people, as well as the authenticity of the Macedonian language, the Republic of N. Macedonia should not start a procedure to change the Constitution. Therefore, the Democratic Union will not nominate its representative in the working group for changing the Constitution.
