Twelve ventilators and 5,000 N95 face masks have arrived Friday in Skopje as part of EU assistance worth EUR 4 million for immediate medical supplies for the country.
The Secretariat for European Affairs as the competent institution for coordination of foreign aid in the country, said that the procurement was realized in cooperation with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
“These 12 ventilators will strengthen the capacity of the health system to respond to the epidemic and treat patients adequately, which is one of the major challenges in tackling the epidemic. In these complex circumstances and difficult conditions for the purchase of the ventilators, the procurement and delivery of these machines is a huge success,” Osmani said.
Osmani thanked the EU officials in the country and the administration in charge of the procurement.
“I’m especially proud of the employees of the Secretariat for European Affairs, who in cooperation with the UNOPS, succeeded to overcome all technical, procedural and transport challenges in providing this complex procurement,” said Osmani.
